I was approached in 2006 to participate in Staffordshire
Bikes forum. It is run by Staffordshire Borough Council in response
to the disproportional number of fatalities on Staffordshire roads
given the number of bikes compared to other road users.
Bike Sense not only organise signage of areas of
particular danger to motorcyclists, but also liaise with the local
highways department and emergency services to identify issues
in road planning and maintenance. In addition they run a very
effective series of courses on "Rider
development"
Nothing to do with Bike Sense but came accross this
video by Nigel Bowers of Advanced
Motorcycle Training. As a motorcyclist it is always nice to
see how the pros do it - and filtering is often one of those grey
areas that people get wrong all the time.
